ADI Number
All approved driving instructors (ADI), will have an instructor's number. This is known as an ADI number.

AMI Number
All approved motorcycle instructors (AMI), will have an instructor’s number. This is known as an AMI number.

Date Search
The Date Search facility will allow you to select a specific date range, and/or part of day which suits you best. Available appointments that match your selection will be displayed. Please note, the date range selected should be no greater than one month at a time.

Date of Birth
Candidate's date of birth is required for verification purposes. Format is dd/mm/yyyy.

Driving Licence Number
Please enter Driving Licence Number, as found on Driving Licence.

Special Circumstances/Disability
At different stages of the test, the driver will be required to exit the vehicle. It is important that you let us know about any special circumstances or disabilities that may prevent you from getting out of the vehicle without help.

Driver Test Category
Driver Test Categories are:
Motor Car - B;
Motorcycle - A1; at least 120cc but no more than 125cc; engine power output no more than 11kilowatts (kW) or 14.6 brake horse power, (bhp); capable of 55mph (90km/h).
Motorcycle - A2; at least 395cc; engine power output of at least 25kW (33bhp) and not exceeding 35kW (46.6bhp); a power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.2kW per kilogram; and not derived from a vehicle of more than double its power.
Motorcycle - A; at least 595cc; engine power output of at least 40kW (53.6bhp).
Moped - AM; 50cc or less; and have a top speed of no more than 28mph (45km/h).

We have used the same name/address details as you entered previously at the payment stage. If you wish to have your appointment letter sent to a different name/address, please untick the box and enter the correct details.

Card Number
This is the 16/19 digit number found across the front of your card. Please enter the number exactly as it appears, without any spaces.

Card Type
The card used to make payment must be one of the following:
MasterCard;
Visa;
Switch/Maestro;
Visa Electron;
Solo;
Visa Delta (Debit).
We do not currently accept payment by any other type of card. If you wish to pay using any other method please contact your local Test Centre Opens new window to book.

Expiry Date
The Expiry Date is found on the front of your card.

Issue Number
The Issue Number is found on the front of your card (Switch/Maestro cards only). Please note: For Switch/Maestro cards either an Issue No OR Start Date must be entered.

Security Code
The Security Code is normally the last 3 digits found on the signature strip on the back of the card. Please note, some cards may vary.

Start Date
The Start Date is found on the front of your card. Please note: For Switch/Maestro cards either a Start Date OR Issue No must be entered.

Booking Reference
The Booking Reference is the unique number given to you when you made the booking. It is required for all enquiries about your booking. If you do not have it, please contact your local Test Centre Opens new window to check your appointment details.

Owner/Trading Name
The name of the owner or the company Trading name will be printed on the Light Goods certificate. Please ensure that this is entered accurately.

Special Requirements
We provide a number of facilities for candidates with disabilities. It is important that you let us know if you:
      * are deaf or have severe hearing difficulties;
      * are in any way restricted in your movements;
      * have any physical disability.

You will still take the same driving test as every other test candidate. However, more time is allowed for the test. This is to allow the examiner to talk to you about your disability and any adaptations fitted to your vehicle. In order to ensure that the correct time is allocated for your test, you must contact our Call Centre on 0345 247 2471 or your local Test Centre Opens new window to make your booking.

Unfortunately you cannot use the online service to book.

Chassis Number
The vehicle’s Chassis (VIN) number can be found on the Vehicle Registration Document/Log Book/V5C(NI) under section 4 Vehicle Details, or on the vehicle. This number must be entered in full, exactly as it appears on the document. Please take care when entering numbers and letters as a Chassis number does not include the letters I (i), O (o), or Q (q).

Last 4 digits of Chassis Number
The vehicle’s Chassis (VIN) number can be found on the Vehicle Registration Document/Log Book/V5C(NI) under section 4 Vehicle Details, or on the vehicle. Only the last 4 digits have to be entered; please take care when entering numbers and letters as a Chassis number does not include the letters I (i), O (o), or Q (q).

Vehicle Registration Number
The Vehicle's Registration Number can be found on your Vehicle Registration Document/LogBook/V5C(NI).

Trailer ID/Consent Number
The Trailer’s ID number or Consent number can be found on the vehicle.

Vehicle Test Type
Test types include:
Full Test (Annual Inspection)
Re-test (Vehicle has failed its annual inspection within the last 21 days)
Re-Test Emissions only (Vehicle has failed the emission component only of the annual inspection within the last 21 days. Please refer to the failure notice).

Vehicle Test Category
Vehicle Test Categories are:
Car (4 years old and over), including 4 wheel drive vehicles less than 2040kg unladen weight;
Light Goods – goods vehicles with a gross weight less than or equal to 3500Kg (3 years old and over), excluding 4 wheel drive vehicles less than 2040kg unladen weight;
Motorcycle - up to and including 200cc (4 years old and over);
Motorcycle - over 200cc (4 years old and over);
Tricycle (4 years old and over);
Heavy Goods - goods vehicles with a gross weight over 3500Kg (every year after registration);
Trailer – first anniversary of the date on which it was first sold or supplied by retail;
Bus – for private use, (on the first anniversary of registration and then every year afterwards if the vehicle is one year old or more;
Bus used for hire and reward (from the date of first being used for hire and reward and then every year afterwards);
Quadricycle (4 years old and over) - please note if your vehicle is known as a Quad (Quadricycle) all applications must be made at your local Test Centre. If you book this type of vehicle as a Private Car online it may not be tested at the time of presentation and a further visit to the Test Centre will be required. Freight Operator Licence Number
* The law requires that all vehicles with a gross weight over 3500kg, used to transport goods as part of a business or trade, for hire or reward must be covered by an operator’s licence. The law came into effect from 1 July 2012 and requires all operators to sign up to a series of undertakings. The Department has the power to impound vehicles if they are discovered on the public road without an operator’s licence when one is required.
